Redirection
I started writing from a place of bondage, but now I write from a place of freedom—victory through Jesus Christ.
Just as the love of God redirected Peter and John's talents toward kingdom work, God is in the process of redirecting the gifts He has given you to help build up His kingdom on earth.
Here’s a bit of my story:
For as long as I could remember, I struggled with depression and anxiety, which led me to writing as a form of therapy. At that time, I had little to no relationship with God, so every dark thought that crossed my mind felt true to me. My writing was tailored to the brokenhearted, but instead of uplifting my readers, it often condoned and justified remaining in that dark state of mind.
When I fully surrendered my life to Christ, the first thing God encouraged me to do was to write about my journey—expressing my feelings and sharing what I was learning. Not long after, He urged me to share these writings with the world, as they came from a heart inclined toward God's work and aware of His redeeming power.
Instead of welcoming defeat and promoting bondage through my writings, I began to reject the lies of the enemy. I called dark thoughts for what they were: false. I encouraged myself and my readers to trust God amid life's trials and tribulations.
God redirected my talents for good—toward His work—and I believe He plans to do the same for you. Yield to the process, and He'll take care of the rest.
