Lesson Learned

Unfortunately, in this life, some of the most significant lessons we’re meant to learn come through what feels like wounding.

I haven’t gone into much detail yet about the aftermath of breaking my silence on my past abuse — in due time, I will. But through it, this is what I learned:

Some people love you, but they love comfort more.

When your pain becomes inconvenient and your justice optional, it reveals where loyalty truly lies — with truth and what’s right, or with comfort, which oftentimes fosters lies.

For the sake of your continued healing, go to God and allow Him to guide you in establishing the boundaries that are necessary in these situations.
