The Truth About Fear

The other night, God revealed something profound to me in a dream.

There was a door—clearly important—and standing in front of it were strange, terrifying creatures. I knew I needed to get through that door, but they blocked the path, looming large and menacing. I quickly realized these weren’t just random figures—they were my fears. Not specific ones, just fear itself in various forms.

In recent dreams, I’ve stopped running from what seems stronger than me. Instead, I remember who I am: a child of God. And with that identity, I face the fear head-on.

In this dream, I lowered my head and charged straight toward the largest creature. And to my surprise—I went right through it. It was like it had no substance. I was confused.

Then, a larger figure appeared. He was even more intimidating than the rest, yet he spoke with authority over the other creatures. He told them to let me pass. They resisted, unsure why. But he repeated the command and pointed his large claw toward the door, directing me forward.

He wasn’t a positive or holy figure—spiritually speaking, he didn’t represent God. But he held authority over the other creatures. What became clear is that the fear standing in my way was never real. It was a facade. A mirage designed to keep me from moving forward.

In this, he—the larger creature—referred to me as Sheila which means “petition” or “request” in Hebrew. I believe in being called this God was allowing me to understand that my petition or request for passage had been granted due to my faith being larger than my fears.

Once I chose to face the fear, the illusion shattered. I saw clearly: those fears had no power. They weren’t even real.

Here’s what God showed me—and what I want you to understand:

Fear only becomes as real and as big as we allow it to be.

God did not give us a spirit of fear.

So where does it come from?

From our enemy.

Through life’s challenges, the enemy plants fears—false narratives, worst-case scenarios, and imagined outcomes—to keep us from walking in the path God has ordained for us.

And here’s the thing: the closer we get to our divine purpose or appointment, the larger and more overwhelming those fears seem. The goal is misalignment—to get us off track and make us doubt God’s promises. Truth is, the internal spiritual warfare confirms that you’re exactly where God wants you to be, and where the enemy does not want you to be.

Just because the fear appears real doesn’t mean it is real. What is real is God. What is real is the authority He’s given you. What is real is the strength to bulldoze your fears—and expose them for what they are: fake.

Your faith in God must be greater than your fear. Because the truth is: God is greater.

When you tap into the strength of God, when you call on His name in the face of fear, you silence every lie the enemy tried to plant in your mind. The presence of God’s truth drowns out the enemy’s deception.

So let your faith rise. Let it speak louder than your fears. Let it drive you forward through every door God has set before you.

Because with God, your fears have no power.
