Psalm 91—Prayer of Divine Protection
Lord,
I thank You that as I dwell in the shelter of the Most High, I rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I thank You that You are my refuge and my fortress—the God in whom I trust. I thank You for saving me from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. I thank You for covering me with Your feathers, and that under Your wings I find refuge. I thank You that Your faithfulness is my shield and rampart.
I thank You that Your perfect love casts out fear—fear of the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day, the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, and the plague that destroys at midday. I thank You that though a thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, destruction will not come near me.
I thank You, Father, that no harm will overtake me and no disaster will come near my dwelling. I thank You for commanding Your angels concerning me, to guard me in all my ways, lifting me up in their hands so that my foot will not strike against a stone.
I thank You that by Your power I will tread upon the lion and the cobra; I will trample the great lion and the serpent. I thank You that because of Your great love for me, You will rescue me, protect me, answer me, be with me in trouble, deliver me, and honor me. I thank You, Lord Jesus, that with long life You will satisfy me and show me Your salvation.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
