The Table Pt.1

Today I watched a video on Instagram of a little boy who appeared to be homeless. He sat alone at a restaurant table. A woman was dining nearby, and once she finished eating, she left with food still on her plate. The boy walked over and prepared to eat her leftovers. A waiter noticed and quickly took the plate away. The boy dropped his head in disappointment and began to leave. Moments later, that same waiter returned with a brand-new plate of fresh food and guided the boy back to the table to enjoy it.

Immediately, I knew God was speaking. In our walk with Christ, some things and even some people must be removed so that we can receive more. The process can feel lonely and disappointing, and it may even cause us to question our devotion. Yet God wants you to know that it is because of your devotion that separation must happen. He is clearing out the old in order to usher in the new. Your obedience has warranted a new thing.

God removes what cannot bear good fruit in your life. He loves you too much to let you settle for half of a friend, half of a relationship, or half of a home. He desires to give you the full blessing, the whole “enchilada,” and even more.

Because we cannot always see what God is preparing, many of us walk away from the table too soon. Disappointment blurs our vision. If we would simply trust the God we serve and wait a little longer, we would discover that He has been preparing far more than we believed we deserved.

“IT IS TIME TO EAT.”

P.S. If this message is for you, allow God to confirm it. We are all in different seasons. Love y’all.

Scriptures to reflect on:

Isaiah 43:19

19) “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 55:8-9

8) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

9) “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
