Anchor-less
I’ve found that we are often more uncomfortable living righteously than living sinfully. Without the justification of the world, many would be far less inclined to fall into sin. The world creates a safe space for sin, so the moment we choose to live contrary to its demonic influences, we feel out of place.
Today, right is called wrong, and wrong is called right. Deception is one of the enemy’s primary tactics, and it thrives on ignorance. The comfort that surrounds our sinful nature—reinforced by daily environments and societal norms—leads many to believe that their lifestyles must be “the way.”
Nevertheless, John 14:6 makes it undeniably clear that any way outside of Jesus is the wrong way:
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
According to the Word, there is no other way but Christ. Righteous living is the only true path. Yet between the enemy’s deception and a lack of discernment, many turn left instead of right because they are anchor-less—easily swayed by feelings born out of a sinful nature.
I like to say, “Feelings are false,” and this is why. Just because something feels right does not mean that it is. God has given us His Word and, most importantly, the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. Test every spirit—even your own. You will know if your thoughts, visions, or dreams are from God if they align with His Word and His character.
