Praise Report!
God is faithful and just to fulfill all His promises to you!
While I’m thankful to be employed in this economy, I felt stuck, undervalued, and overlooked on the job. For years, I felt like I had no choice but to endure it.
I’ve been with the same company for five years, and for a while now, I’ve desired better for myself. Door after door seemed to slam in my face, but if I’m being honest, I wasn’t just praying for any doors to open. I was praying for doors that were truly in my best interest.
Recently, I made a very abrupt move out of state, and by God’s grace, I was able to remain in my position with my company, which actually helped make the transition seamless. No lapse in pay, no complications, just from point A to point B. From one office to another, over 700 miles away from home. That alone was a blessing!
God used my previous position as a stepping stone to help me relocate. For nearly a month, I gave my new office a fair chance, but even in a new environment, I still felt that same nudge. It was time to move on.
Before even starting at the new office, I had applied to several positions. I received a few calls, but nothing stuck, nothing solid. Then I got a call from this one company.
At this point, I had given up. The back and forth, the ghosting from interviewers and recruiters. It became far more exhausting facing rejection after rejection, so I stopped applying, and trusted that if leaving my current employer was for me, God would make a way.
Every morning, I got up, listened to my daily sermon, prayed over the day, myself, and my loved ones, and ended by thanking God for the open doors and opportunities that were on the way.
A little TMI, but one night, a few nights before I received the phone call, as I began my nightly routine, I decided to bring my anointing oil to the bathroom, and I quite literally began to bathe in it. While doing so, I spoke blessings over myself and my situations. I took the oil, poured some on my hands, rubbed my wrists and ankles, and thanked God for breaking the chains off of me.
That night, I decided to read my Bible before bed, as I do every other night. As usual, I prayed beforehand and asked God to lead me to where He desired to speak to me, and I opened the book to a random page. That night, the page consisted of this verse:
Isaiah 40:4
“But today I am freeing you from the chains on your wrists. Come with me to Babylon, if you like, and I will look after you; but if you do not want to, then don’t come. Look, the whole country lies before you; go wherever you please.”
I paused and looked around, slightly freaked out by the timing of it all. And of course, I thanked God!
A few days later, I received the phone call. They scheduled an interview immediately, and after the interview, offered me the position the next business day.
SUDDENLY!
For the first time in my life, I cried happy tears over my own breakthrough. And I told God it was all Him. No matter how many degrees I have or how seasoned I am at what I do, only God could have opened such a door. If it had been because of my accolades or experience, it would have happened a long time ago, but it wasn’t. It was all about who God is. And when He says it’s time, it’s time!
God is the Qualifier, and He has qualified me.
Thank You, Lord, for remembering me. 🙏🏾
